Battle of the Boyne by Hawks Class

British values topic of the week was Battle of the Boyne.  The infamous battle of William of Orange and James II, the last and biggest battle that was fought on British soil.  We learnt that the Battle of Boyne contributed to the division in Ireland with the Catholics and Protestants, James II being catholic and William of Orange being protestant.  On the 12th of July in Northern Ireland they celebrate this battle with parades and orange flags to commemorate William of Orange’s win.
